Rockliffe (TV Series)
''Rockliffe'' is a British television police procedural drama series, produced by the BBC, which ran for three series between 9 January 1987 and 14 December 1988. ''Rockliffe'' was devised by Richard O'Keeffe, and produced by Leonard Lewis. The first two series, entitled ''Rockliffe's Babies'', starred Ian Hogg as Alan Rockliffe, a detective sergeant assigned to train a team of inexperienced plain-clothed Crime Squad PCs in inner-city London, which include Steve Hood (Brett Fancy), Gerry O'Dowd (Joe McGann), David Adams (Bill Champion), Janice Hargreaves ( Alphonsia Emmanuel), Paul Georgiou (Martyn Ellis), Keith Chitty (John Blakely) and Karen Walsh (Susanna Shelling). The series featured writing contributions from Richard O`Keeffe, Don Webb, Charlie Humphreys and Nick Perry, and was directed by Derek Lister, Keith Washington, Clive Fleury and David Attwood. Police Procedural
The police show, or police crime drama, is a subgenre of procedural drama and detective fiction that emphasizes the investigative procedure of a police officer or department as the protagonist(s), as contrasted with other genres that focus on either a private detective, an amateur investigator or the characters who are the targets of investigations. Alan Wareing
Alan Wareing (born 16 August 1943 in Chorley, Lancashire) is a British television director. He became interested in directing through amateur theatre. He directed many plays before he started working in BBC Television, firstly as an assistant floor manager and then as a production assistant, before training to be a director at the corporation. His early work as a director included three ''Doctor Who'' serials from Sylvester McCoy's era as the Seventh Doctor, and he has directed hundreds of episodes of the ITV soap operas ''Coronation Street'' and ''Emmerdale''. Tristan John de Vere Cole (born 16 March 1935) is an English television director, now retired. In his first career, he was a Royal Navy Officer for seven years. Life Cole is believed to be the last-surviving illegitimate son of the painter Augustus John (1878–1961). His mother, Mavis Cole, met John at the Café Royal in 1928, and agreed to model for him. In 1931 she married Horace de Vere Cole, a well-known Edwardian practical joker, then in 1932 became the mistress of Augustus John. Cole was brought up in the John household at Fryern Court, Fordingbridge, from the age of 18 months, partly by his mother, and then later by Dorelia McNeill. Stephen Gallagher (born 13 October 1954) is an English screenwriter and novelist. Gallagher was born in Salford, Greater Manchester. Career Gallagher has written novels and television scripts, including for the BBC television series ''Doctor Who'' — for which he wrote two serials, ''Warriors' Gate'' (1981) and ''Terminus'' (1983)—as well as for the series ''Rosemary & Thyme'' and '' Bugs'', for two seasons of which he was script consultant along with Brian Clemens. Ken Hannam (12 July 1929 – 16 November 2004) was an Australian film and television director who also worked in British television drama. Career Born in St Kilda, Melbourne, the eldest of three boys, Hannam lived in his youth in Sydney and was educated at Wollaroi College in Orange, New South Wales. Don Webb is a playwright and script writer based in the UK. He has written for British TV and the West End and is currently working on a novel for children.
